PURPOSE: A multicasting method for transmitting a datagram in a process layer is provided to perform a multicast without expanding a TCP/IP module, an IP service interface, a local network service interface, and a local network module by capsulizing the datagram in the process layer, forming a symmetric binary tree structure, and transmitting and receiving the datagram. CONSTITUTION: Information of a group member(node) for transmitting and receiving a datagram is capsulized. The least significant member is formed as a symmetric binary tree structure from a primary received group member for transmitting the datagram including multimedia contents from a group server. A random group member receives the datagram from it's own upper node, notifies whether the datagram is received to it's own upper node, and transmits the datagram to it's own lower node again. The random group member receives whether the datagram is received from it's own lower node and transmits and receives the datagram transmitted from the group server to the least significant node of the binary tree structure.
