ELECTRODE BASE MATERIAL AND NICKEL ELECTRODE USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel electrode with superior output characteristics by using a relatively low-cost electrode base material. SOLUTION: A sintered body of a soil-shaped rolled stock of the mixture of powder mainly containing nickel and powder mainly containing cobalt is used as the low-cost base material for the electrode. This base material for the electrode is provided with a paste coating layer for the electrode having nickel hydroxide as its main active material to provide the nickel electrode with superior output characteristics.
