PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a member for a surface light source and a light guide plate used therefor, capable of realizing the uniform and high-luminance surface light source for a large screen. SOLUTION: The member (A) for the surface light source is provided with the light guide plate (a1) for allowing light incident from a side end surface (a11) to be emitted from either (a13) of a surface and a backside and a lens sheet (a2) disposed on the side of the light-emitting surface (a13) of the plate (a1) and permitting the outgoing light to turn around in the direction of the normal to the surface (a13).
