PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security unit which can realize a general-purpose simple function by providing a function of detecting the state of communication use in a communication unit needed to give notice of abnormality. SOLUTION: This security unit is equipped with a means, which is connected between a protector and communication equipment connected to a subscriber line and detects a current flowing through the subscriber line, and automatically informs a preset ground point that safety can not be confirmed for a long period with a voice message and/or electronic mail and/or a beeper message, and/or a PB signal, if the current cannot be detected, even after a date and time has elapsed as a preset monitor cycle period and/or a monitor period.
