PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation of an elastic contact piece. SOLUTION: In a main body part 21 formed in an oblong cylindrical shape, the elastic contact piece 27 is turned around and formed from a longitudinal wall 26 on a left side, and on a tilting upward right side, a housing space 28 wherein male terminal fitting 10 can be housed is formed. When the male terminal fitting 10 inserted into the housing space 28 are relatively displaced in an orthogonal direction against the shaft line direction of female fitting 20, the male terminal fitting 10 elastically deform the elastic contact piece 27, and are put into contact with a joint part 34. Because a pair of projection control parts 37, 38 protruded and installed up and down from the elastic contact piece 27 is abutted on a formed receiver part 36 projected from the longitudinal wall 26 and the abutted region for the receiver part 36 of the elastic contact piece 27 is widened more than the width size of the elastic contact piece 27, the elastic contact piece 27 can be prevented from being twisted and deformed around the shaft line accompanied with the contact action. Because the projection control part 38 of the lower side is abutted on a lateral wall 32 of a lower side, the elastic contact piece 27 can be prevented from being bent and deformed as the shaft line is made to be swung in a widthwise direction.
