PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spread spectrum receiver that can be improved in the ratio of the signal power ratio to the interference power ratio with respect to a desired signal and, in addition, in reception characteristic. SOLUTION: The spread spectrum receiver which receives signals from two or more transmitting stations is provided with subtracters 1 and 2 which subtract interference replicas from received signals, a reversely spreading sections 21 and 22 which reversely spread the desired signal based on the subtracted results of the subtracters 1 and 2, and propagation path characteristic estimating sections 23 and 24 which estimate the characteristics of propagation paths from the reversely spread results of the sections 21 and 22. The receiver is also provided with multiplying sections 25 and 26 which multiply the reversely spread results by the complex conjugate numbers of the estimated results of the characteristics of the propagation paths, common pilot symbol generators 5 and 6 which generate the common pilot symbols corresponding to their own transmitting stations, and multipliers 9 and 10 which multiply the common pilot symbols by diffused codes. In addition, the receiver is also provided with multipliers 7 and 8 which generate the interference replicas by multiplying the multiplied results of the multipliers 9 and 10 by the estimated results of the characteristics of the propagation paths. |
