PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network scanner which notifies the destination when the read out image data is lost. SOLUTION: Read out image data is stored in a volatile memory m1, the destination of the image data and presence thereof are stored in a nonvolatile memory m2 and when the image data in the volatile memory m1 is lost due to power interruption, or the like, the destination stored in the nonvolatile memory m2 is notified about it.
