PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of an optical disk by stably detecting the wrong mounting state of the optical disk at a low cost in a simple constitution, in an optical disk driver which has a putting-in/out type disk tray. SOLUTION: An optical sensor 6 emits and receives light in parallel to the surface 2a of an optical disk tray 2 between the main body of the optical disk driver and the tray 2. When the optical disk 1 is abnormally mounted, its optical path is cut and an abnormal detection signal is outputted. Then a warning is issued and thereby the breakage of the disk 1 is prevented.
