PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make speedily and surely retrievable a desired CD and to make reproducible the CD. SOLUTION: When a registration operation of the title name of a desired CD2i is executed, a control section 7A stores the information corresponding to the CD2i in a storage section 9A, controls an exchanging section 4 and a CD reproducing section 3, takes out the CD2i from a housing section 1, sets the CD2i in a CD reproducing section 3, starts a reproducing at a leading portion of a first music and controls the section 9A to store music signals equivalent to ten seconds corresponding to the CD2i. When it is put into an overall retrieving mode while the registration of title names and music signals is completed for all CDs in the section 1, a control section 7A displays all of the title names. When a desired title name is selected from the names being displayed, music signals corresponding to the CD having the desired title name are read from the section 9A and outputted. When a reproducing of the desired music is instructed, the section 7A controls the sections 4 and 3, the CD2i corresponding to the desired title name is taken out from the section 1, set to the section 3 and reproduced.
