PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device that allows a solid state imaging element to be positioned highly precisely with respect to an optical element, and also enables highly accurate positioning with reduced cost. SOLUTION: In this invention, the solid state imaging device has an optical master surface, and comprises an optical mount 4 for supporting a lens-barrel holding the optical element 1, a solid state imaging element 3 receiving images formed by the optical element 1, and a circuit board 7 which is provided with a circuit for supplying electric power to the imaging element 3 and a circuit for processing signals outputted by the imaging element 3, and electrically connected to the imaging element. Also, there is provided a positioning member which is arranged integrally with the optical mount 4 for positioning the imaging element 3.
