PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire detector capable of being easily installed at a low cost without providing fitting holes on a system ceiling. SOLUTION: A ceiling surface mounting type detector main body 2 having a detecting part 3 housing a detecting means for detecting smoke is fitted in such a manner that the detecting part 3 is located at the upper part of a device body 4 on which an air introducing part 5 for introducing air is provided on the lower end part. The device body 4 is mounted in such a manner that the air introducing part 5 is exposed from the ceiling surface to a ceiling constructional member such as a channel member 81 and the detector main body 2 is also located between the ceiling and the roof.
