PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for changing over the initially procedural items capable of reducing at need the time required for becoming the recordable/ reproducible state from the time when an optical disk is inserted, in an optical disk unit. SOLUTION: This device is furnished with a storage means 1 for storing specified one or more items among the initially procedural items necessary for the process when inserting the optical disk by dividing each of them into plural process contents, a mode changeover means 2 for selecting one from among the plural process contents in respective one or more specified items stored by the above storage means, and the optical disk unit 3 for carrying out by using the process contents stored by the above storage means as to items related to the process contents selected by the mode changeover means, when the process of the initially procedural items necessary for the inserted optical disk is carried out.
