PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine which increases the flexibility of article management in a stock section. SOLUTION: The precondition of the vending machine 1 of the invention is that articles are stored in respective stock parts 5, on the premise that the part where the kinds of the articles are displayed (article identification parts such as labels) is exposed to the front. While the articles are thus stocked, a movable part 22 of a movable stage 8 is moved vertically and to the right and left in a perpendicular plane before the stock parts 5. At this time, an imaging part 23 fixed to the movable part 22 takes the image of the article identification parts of the respective articles. The imaged result is used in various ways for managing of the articles in the stock parts 5.
