PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone which can be supplied with power by light energy and can further extend the operating time, and can lessen the effect of waves on human body and can cope with downsizing. SOLUTION: A solar cell 20, which has a back electrode 24 working as a reflecting plate on the opposite side from a liquid crystal part 10, is arranged on the back side of the liquid crystal part 10. An RF part shield plate 30 is arranged on the rear side of the solar cell 20, and the RF part shield plate 30 and the back electrode 24 of the solar cell 20 are electrically connected with each other. Then, the power supply and the charge to a battery are performed by the power generation of the solar cell 20.
