PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication unit that can provide an output of indication of telephone numbers registered in a telephone directory or the like in a suitable way to the position of the portable communication unit. SOLUTION: A portable telephone 4 stores communication history information that cross-references telephone numbers of communication destinations, telephone numbers of communication destinations with which the portable telephone 4 has made communication before and IDs of base stations 21-2n used for the past communications and decides the sequence of displaying the stored telephone numbers by using the stored communication history information and the IDs obtained from the base stations 21-2n according to an instruction.
