PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a highly accurate adjustment even if the number of patches of a test chart image for calibration is small when adjusting and calibrating image signal transforming conditions for transforming a first image signal to a second image signal. SOLUTION: A test chart image recorded in a recording medium is read for acquisition of a measured density value (step 110), a reference density value in response to the measured density value is selected from a target density data which has a larger number of data than that of the measured density value which indicates the relationship between a first image signal and a target density of the image to be recorded on the recording medium (step 124), this reference density value is used to calculate a test chart target image signal value corresponding to the measured density value (step 124), and the adjusted image signal transforming conditions are calculated based on the test chart target image signal value and a signal value for the first image signal of the test chart image or a second image signal of the test chart image when the test image is recorded (step 126). |
