PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone provided with a function for displaying the destination telephone number information to prevent erroneous input of a destination telephone number to which one makes a call for the first time. SOLUTION: This telephone comprises: a network control section 1 for processing a control signal of a switchboard; a telephone conversation section 2 which converts between a two-wire circuit and a four-wire circuit and supplies a speaking current; a transmission section 3 for outputting a voice signal; a reception section 4 to which the voice signal is inputted; a modem 5 for receiving the telephone number information; a controlling and processing section 6 for controlling and processing the information to be inputted or outputted to or from the telephone; a telephone number information registration section 7 for registering telephone numbers and associated callers' names, type of line, or the like; a display 8 for displaying the telephone number information; and operation keys including a dial key, facsimile switch, and other function keys. The controlling and processing section 6 comprises a destination telephone number inputting section 10 for inputting a destination telephone number information received by the modem, and a caller's telephone number inputting section 11 for inputting the caller's telephone number information received by the modem.
