PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a portable telephone terminal equipped with a backlight made of electroluminescence to accurately perform the radio processing of GPS radio wave. SOLUTION: When an event of position measurement occurs to the potable telephone terminal, a backlight 9 is turned off or lowered in its output level, if a GPS radio part 11 is in operation. When the GPS radio part 11 is in the radio processing of the GPS radio wave, the backlight 9 can be prevented from generating beats and, even if the backlight 9 generates beats, the adverse effects of them can be suppressed in advance, so that the GPS radio part can accurately perform radio processing of the GPS radio wave.
