PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone device for elderly persons which makes the persons, who have difficulty in hearing receive voice in a natural and highly clear way by expanding the voice band to a lower frequency band and to a higher frequency band with respect to the telephone band. SOLUTION: This telephone set comprises a telephone-circuit transmission/ reception part 101 that inputs and outputs signal to a telephone circuit; a circuit control part 102 that controls the circuit; that generates dial signal, and that detects call signal; and a band expansion part 104, the input side of which is connected to the circuit control part 102 and the output side of which is connected to a voice-outputting device 108. The band expansion part 104 adds a lower frequency-band component and ah higher frequency band component, that are not contained in the telephone-band voice to the telephone-band voice outputted from the circuit control part 102.
