PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakdown of a photodetector due to mutual contact of dissimilar electrodes in connection to a circuit board, avoid the capacitance variations due to the wiring length change, make connection terminals of the photodetector insertable in the circuit board to enable the mounting easy to connect to the circuit board and matched with circuits of the circuit board, and realize a fixture superior in tightness, connection and convenience for mechanically fixing a photodetector module to the circuit board at the same time as the electric connection thereof. SOLUTION: The photodetector module 12 comprises a ferrule 16 mounted on the end of an optical fiber 14, a photodetector 18 mounted on the ferrule 16 for receiving optical signals from the optical fiber 14, and connection terminals 22, 24 for connecting the photodetector 18 to a circuit board 20. The connection terminals 22, 24 are insertable in the circuit board 20, and the terminals 22, 24 are inserted to connect the photodetector 18 to circuits of the circuit board 20 and also fix the module 12 to the circuit board 20.
