<p>An assembly (60) for mounting dual shoulder straps (14,16) to a golf bag having a handle (40) on its sidewall. The central portion (62) of the assembly mounts to a unique handle casing (90) which is slidably disposed on handle (40). The assembly includes a mounting strap (84) connected to the central mounting element (80). The casing (90) includes a handle portion (94) and an attachment member or ring (92) integral with the handle portion. The mounting strap (84) links the central mounting element (80) to the ring (92). The casing (90) includes an internal channel adapted for accepting the bag handle (40). The casing can be positioned to distribute the weight of the bag between the user's shoulders as desired. To fix the casing in position, the handle includes a locking lever (91) which is rotatable between locked and unlocked positions. The slidable casing allows the assembly to be located at the optimum balance point for carrying the golf bag.</p> |
