<p>Disclosed is method for treating viral infections and compounds for use in such treatments. The method involves administering a pharmaceutical formulation including 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid or its analogs or derivatives to a patient. The derivative or analog compounds are presented in a pharmaceutical formulation comprising a substantially pure compound of formula (I): wherein R?1 and R2¿ are selected from the group consisting of the moieties (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g) and (h) where R is H or a halogen.</p> |
