PURPOSE: A gradation display method is provided to be capable of reducing quality-of-picture deterioration caused at a display panel for performing a gradation display using a plurality of sub-fields. CONSTITUTION: Each of sub-fields(SF1-SF4) that the luminescence contrast is large are divided into two portions(SF1-1,SF1-2,SF2-1,SF2-2,SF3-1,SF3-2,SF4-1,SF4-2). Each of sub-fields(SF5,SF6,SF7,SF8) is not divided. Two divided portions of each sub-fields have the same luminescence contrast. The divided portions of the sub-fields are arranged in the first direction and in the second direction in turn. The first direction is a direction where the divided portions are arranged from a front part to an end part in an ascending power. The second direction is a direction where the divided portions are arranged from the end part to the front part in a descending power. The sub-fields(SF5,SF6,SF7,SF8) are disposed at the center of a frame. |
