<p>The present invention relates to methods for decreasing the resistance of microbial strains to antiinfectives such an antibiotics and antifungals by altering the ATP gradient across biological membranes. The altering of the ATP gradient across biological membranes is achieved through the inhibition of ecto-phosphatase activity and/or ABC transporter molecule activity which may be useful to reduce resistance in bacteria and yeast to aid in the treatment of certain infections and disease and to lower the concentration of antiinfectives necessary to inhibit the growth of microbial strains.</p> |
