A method and a device capable of taking the three-dimensional image and the size of a body by utilizing the fact that a person, when standing, can keep the balance of a body by continuously swinging even if the person is not aware of the absence of a material to support the body; the method, comprising the steps of keeping the pressures from the caps (10) of all pistons (1) coming into contact with the body generally at a constant irrespective of the positions and moving strokes of the pistons (1) by increasing, to some degree, the volume of a common air chamber, simultaneously returning the pistons (1) to reference positions by instantaneously reversing the positive and negative directions of the pressures by the automatic operation of a valve, and calculating the length of return strokes by automatically reading, by the sensors (11) and (19), the number of windings of magnetic coils (18) buried in the pistons near the cylindrical surface as the number of waves of a pulsating current.
