<p>An optical multilayer film filer which is formed by laminating alternately high refractive index material layers and low refractive index material layers by one by and is used for optical communication, characterized in that the high refractive index material comprises niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5) and the low refractive index material comprises silicon dioxide (SiO2). The filter permits the reduction of the total thickness of such a filter and also the decrease of the number of layers constituting the filter without detriment of the performance capabilities thereof as an optical multilayer film filer for use in the optical communication.</p> |
