The invention relates to a context-dependent protocol creation system and method, especially for use in the field of production, assembly, service or maintenance. According to the invention, attributes (user ID, user role, location, workflow, step) regarding a user profile (3), a workflow engine (8) and a tracking system (2) are automatically detected, these attributes are automatically linked with protocols and are stored in a suitable storage system (15). The inventive system allows later evaluation of the protocols via the attributes.
