The shaft (12) of the pen incorporates a housing for liquid and is joined to a front housing part (14) from which protrudes an applicator (30) conveying the liquid medium by capillary action. The applicator fits into the housing shaft and is enclosed by an axially adjustable protective tube (36) integrated in the front housing part. The protective tube has two axially adjacent, stepped, and coaxial sections (38,40) of different diameter. The applicator has a front elongated section (32) next to a coaxial section (34). The shaft has a thrust piece (28). The housing front and shaft have matching threaded sections (18,20).
