A snap fastener (10) having a first fastening member (11) and (12), with bases (14, 34) and mounting members (15, 35), which bases define an opening (17, 37), and projections (21, 41) and recesses (22, 42) in an annular pattern. The projections releasably interlock within the receses of the opposing fastening member. Mounting members (15, 35) have a post (27, 47) that passes through the opening (17, 37) for securing the fastening members to substrates. An alternate embodiment snap fastener (103) defines radially disposed projections (108) with recesses (116). A method of detachably joining two substrates together is disclosed. |
