A chattering preventing structure (20) of a machine tool (22) having a spindle (28) rotatably installed in a casing (24) through bearings (26) and a boring bar (30) detachable from the spindle (28), comprising a damper chamber (34) provided at the tip of the boring bar (30), i.e., at a chattering preventing portion and a magnet for friction damper (36) stored in the damper chamber (34) movably in the direction of arrow (A) and absorbing, by a sliding friction, a vibration energy causing chattering during the machining of a work (W).
