The invention relates to a vehicle wheel, particularly for a motor vehicle, e.g. a passenger car. The vehicle wheel is provided with a wheel disk (14) for placing on a rotational axis (12) and on a wheel rim (16), which is joined to the wheel disk (14) and which has an outer side (26) facing away from said wheel disk (14). An airborne sound absorbing material (30) is arranged on the outer side (26) of the wheel rim (16). This material (30) is located inside a recess (48) of the wall (17) of the wheel rim (16).
