The invention relates to a digital camera, comprising a lens arrangement (1) and a CCD receiver (2) with receiver elements which are arranged in the rows and columns that are perpendicular to said rows. The image acquired by the lens arrangement is re-formed on this CCD receiver, as the receiver elements deliver signals according to the picture element being acquired, respectively. An image processing unit (3) which processes image signals and generates image recording signals, and a recording medium (4) on which the image recording signals are stored are provided. The image processing unit can be switched over in such a way that the unit either provides image recording signals for the entire image acquired by the CCD receiver in a single operation, or provides image recording signals for just one section of the image with a predetermined width in the direction of the rows or the columns, repeatedly; for storing on the recording medium. The camera is therefore suitable for taking individual pictures or panoramic pictures. |
