The invention relates to an electric ventilator, especially for vehicles comprising an electric drive motor (14), a fan wheel (12) coupled to the drive motor and an electronic control unit (16) for controlling the motor. The aim of the invention is to provide an electric ventilator which is easier and cheaper to mount. This is achieved by arranging the drive motor and the control unit in a joint housing (18). Said housing has ventilation openings (58) through which the current of cooling air (66) generated by the fan wheel can flow. A cooling body (56) of the control unit is disposed on at least one ventilation opening.
