The invention relates to a piezoelectric component and to a method for the production thereof. The inventive piezoelectric component is a multilayered component with electrode layers containing copper on the inside thereof. The use of copper in the electrode layers is enabled by means of a binder removal process that is carried out using inert gas and water vapour.
