<p>A clock control method comprising the steps of computing a CPU utilization rate for a maximum clock frequency allowed for an information processing device for each application based on each clock frequency obtained by registering, for each application, clock frequencies necessary for running a plurality of applications, and setting in the information processing device a system clock frequency determined by a total of each CPU utilization rate thus computed, the clock control method providing an optimal performance of the information processing device to an operator when a frequency at which the determined system clock frequency exceeds the maximum clock frequency increases by sending out an upgrade necessity alarm for the information processing device, or by setting, according to information processing device utilization environment conditions, one of the following clock frequencies a clock frequency at which an application operates comfortably, a clock frequency of a minimum requirement for the application to operate, and an allowable system clock frequency matching the utilization environment conditions (power supply, temperature, noise conditions) of the information processing device.</p> |
