<p>The present invention relates to the novel finding that inhibition of human CARP protein or of CARP DNA/mRNA may successfully cure heart disorders, especially heart failure in humans. The invention relates, therefore, to pharmaceutical compositions containing substances, preferably of lower molecular weight, which may influence the activity of cardiac CARP. The invention relates, furtheremore, to a method of treatment heart failure using CARP inhibitory compounds, to methods for screening these inhibitors and to the use of CARP as diagnostic tool.</p> |
