The invention relates to antimicrobial oligomers produced by oligomerisation of one or several monomers from the group of methacrylic acid -2-tert.-butylaminoethylester, methacrylic acid -2-diethylaminoethylester, methacrylic acid -2-diethylaminomethylester, acrylic acid-2-tert.-butylaminoethylester, acrylic acid-3-dimethylaminopropylester, acrylic acid -2-diethylaminoethylester, acrylic acid -2-dimethylaminoethylester, dimethylaminopropylmethacrylamide, diethylaminopropylmethacrylamide, acrylic acid -3-dimethylaminopropylamid, 2-methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammoniummethosulfate, methacrylic acid-2-diethylaminoethylester, 2-methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammoniumchloride, 3-methacryloylaminopropyltrimethylammoniumchloride, 2-methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammoniumchloride, 2-acryloyloxyethyl-4-benzoyldimethylammoniumbromide, 2-methacryloyloxyethyl-4-benzoyldimethylammoniumbromide, allyltriphenylphosphoniumbromide, allyltriphenylphosphoniumchloride, 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propane sulfonic acid, 2-diethylaminoethylvinylether and/or 3-aminopropylvinylether. The invention also relates to a method for the production and use of said oligomers. The invention further relates to polymer formulations obtained from antimicrobial oligomers and a water-soluble polymer.
