<p>The invention concerns a method for growing high quality single crystals, in particular optical crystals, having specific orientation. The invention is characterised by: the use of a particular design of the crystal growing chamber (8) and the crucibles (1, 5) containing the material to be melted and crystallised, so as to obtain an asymmetric thermal field with fixed orientation having vertical and horizontal components; the fact that solidification is carried out by maintaining the crucibles fixed, the melting and solidification processes being ensured solely by controlling the power installed in the resistor (13); the use of a process making the crucible(s) hermetically sealed at a specific temperature of the cycle.</p> |
