The alarm handling method involves responding to the reception of an alarm from a hardware managed object. This is done by providing a fault occurrence report for a supervisory network device, together with the related status variations. A source identifier (16) indicates whether the status variations are caused by an internal operation, or by a user-dependent management command. A attribute identification list is used for (19) identifying the status attributes for the hardware managed object, and status variation identification lists (17,18,19,20,21) define the status variations for the different managed objects. |
