PURPOSE: An automatic gas shutoff device is provided to prevent an accident by automatically shutoff a gas valve and to reduce a producing cost by simplifying structure. CONSTITUTION: An automatic gas shutoff device comprises a sensing unit(200) receiving power from a power supplying unit by sensing a pressing motion of a gas valve controlling switch(100); a timer(300) controlling the power supply unit to supply gas into a gas range as much as an established time; a motor(400) rotating during a setting time of the timer; a power transferring gear(500) rotating by being fixed on a shaft of the motor; a ring gear(600) rotating by being geared with the power transferring gear; and a first clutch unit(700) transferring or shutting off power of the ring gear into the gas valve controlling switch shaft. Thereby, the automatic gas shutoff device prevents an accident by automatically shutoff the gas valve.
