A composition for the prevention and treatment of diseases or pathological states related to the degradation of the extracellular matrix, such as including but not limit ed to, degenerative diseases, particularly atherioselerosis, cancer, infection or other inflammatory diseases is dis- closed, comprising preferential compounds of lysine, proline, ascorbate, and their derivates and synthetic analogues and vitamins, pro-vitamins and trace elements.
