According to the invention, during the use of self-commutated voltage-source converters which consists of one or more rectifiers and one or more inverters, an operating frequency is used for the inverters which is greater than the frequency of the relevant output current and said inverters are connected to the parallel compensated load circuit via a decoupling choke. In this way an economical power supply, even at low frequencies, is created for induction furnaces and inductors used for inductive melting and heating. |
