摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general purpose light receiving and emitting device for POF (plastic optical fiber) communications, a device which has superior the incident/emitting efficiency of a signal light beam as well as small in connection loss and which is a low-cost, high-quality receiver/transmitter allowing the general spread of optical communications. SOLUTION: The light receiving/emitting device is composed of a POF connecting part 11, a light guide body part 12 for guiding a signal light beam, and a light receiving/emitting part 13 with the optical axes of the parts in coincidence and with the end faces in adhesion. The light guide path 15 of the light guide body part 12 is enclosed with a reflecting face in the light receiving side and tapered toward a light receiving device, while the end face of the POF side is desirably in a dimension comparable to or greater than that of the POF. It is also preferable that a transmitting body is filled in the optical path 15. The light receiving/transmitting part 13 is desirably provided with a structure combining the light receiving/emitting device, a related device, etc., and sealed with the transmitting body. Further, it is advisable that the light receiving/emitting part has a structure in which the light receiving/emitting device is flip-mounted on the circuit board 19 in which a light passage hole 17 is provided.
