PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens holding mechanism for surely holding a lens barrel at scanning, and to provide an image forming device provided with the mechanism. SOLUTION: The lens barrel 104 is freely displaced in the hole axis direction of the round hole 102 of a casing 30. The lens barrel 104 is pressed against projections 106B and 106C by a bush 112 energized by a spring 114 inserted into the hole part 110. Then, the optical axis is prevented from being deviated due to that the lens barrel 104 is displaced in the radial direction by the acceleration applied on the lens barrel 104 at scanning even though there is a clearance between the projection 106A and the lens barrel 104. Then, the image is accurately formed.
