PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive data memory element holding label which is hardly destroyed in a data memory element in manufacturing and use of the label and may be manufactured by simple process steps. SOLUTION: This data memory element holding label 10 is held with the data memory element 13 by a tacky adhesive layer 12 on one surface 11a of a surface base material 11 and is affixable on the exposed surface 12a side of the tacky adhesive layer 12 to an object. The tacky adhesive layer 12 before the data memory element 13 is held is formed as a separate body from the surface base material 11 and after the one surface 13c of the data memory element 13 is brought into tight adhesion to a surface side 12b of the tacky adhesive layer 12 opposite to the surface base material 11, the surface base material 11 is laminated on the tacky adhesive layer 12 and the other surface 13d of the data memory element 13 comes into contact with one surface 11a of the surface base material 11.
