PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clearing in midsection without causing an image distrortion, regardless of humidity changes, when transferring a toner image on a photosensitive drum to a recording material. SOLUTION: According to a water content detected by a temperature and humidity detecting means 21, a circumferential speed difference Δv between a peripheral speed v1 of the photosensitive drum 1 and a carrying speed v2 of a recording material P is varied. When the content is low, the circumferential speed difference Δv is made lower than that used when the water content is high, thereby preventing clearing in midsection which is caused during the transfer. If increase in the circumferential speed difference Δv is made, an image is distorted. However, by reducing the circumferential speed difference Δv to absolute minimum level according to the water content, the image can be prevented from being distorted. |
