<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a user to transmit/receive data without recognizing a counterpart's data format, and to save labor for data format conversion, so that labor-saving data communication can be conducted. SOLUTION: A data communication system 1 is provided with data communication devices 12-14 installed for users and a server device 11 connected to the data communication devices 12-14 to permit data communication. The server device 11 is provided with the following: a reception means for receiving data transmitted from the data communication device 12 for a transmission side user; a conversion means for converting the format (format and code) of the data received by the reception means into a designated format for a reception side user; and a transmission means for transmitting the data converted by the conversion means to the data communication devices 13, 14 of the reception side user. Optimally, every piece of data and information that is transmitted/ received through the server device 11 is stored as master copy for a fixed period. The stored data and information are provided for viewing by the user whenever he desires.</p> |
