PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system provided with a function capable of more effectively blocking access by an illegal user. SOLUTION: The information providing system L is provided with an information providing server 13, an authentication server 14 and a storage medium 15 capable of being connected through the Internet 11 to a computer 12. By running a program stored in the storage medium, it is confirmed whether Internet connection information is stored in the computer or not. When the information is not stored, authentication information inputted from the computer is transmitted to the authentication server and it is confirmed whether a user corresponding to that authentication information has been registered or not. When such a user has not been registered, such a user is normally registered, the Internet connection information transmitted from the authentication server is stored in the computer and access to the information providing server is enabled (1). When such a user is normally registered, this user is registered again as an illegal connection user and access to the information providing server is refused (2). |
