PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device equipped with a transfer device having simple constitution capable of preventing pre-transfer at the transfer material advancing port part of a transfer nip part in the case of transferring a toner image to transfer material advancing to the transfer nip part. SOLUTION: A secondary transfer bias roller 605 at a secondary transfer part is arranged at a position on a more upstream side in the moving direction of an intermediate transfer belt 501 than a secondary transfer counter roller 510. Thus, the transfer material P carried to the transfer nip part of the secondary transfer part is previously brought into contact with the belt 501 in a pre-transfer area. As a result, the occurrence of the pre-transfer caused by a gap G between the transfer material P and the belt 501 in the pre-transfer area is prevented without causing the complication of the device.
