PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a device for non-destructive inspection capable of more accurately detecting exfoliated portions of a coating by removing an effect of variations in measured data owing to the shape of a specimen or the thickness of its coating. SOLUTION: The specimen P is heated for a prescribed period of time and thereafter temperature drop is measured. By correcting the measured data based on reference specimen data, variations in temperature owing to the shape of the specimen are canceled out. The reference specimen data is data showing variations in the temperature of a heated reference specimen having the same shape as the specimen P and having no exfoliation. The rate of temperature change is found with respect to the corrected data. Based on the rate of temperature change, exfoliated parts are detected, if any. There is a large difference in the rate of temperature change between an exfoliated part and a sound part. It is less susceptible to the thickness of the coating.
